hope ya'll enjoy

Just because you dont support the war, doesnt mean you cant support the troops fighting for our freedom.

Turn up your volume too theres a song!

You stay up for 16 hours.
He stays up for days on end.

You take a warm shower to help you wake up.
He goes days or weeks without running water.

You complain of a "headache", and call in sick.
He gets shot at as others are hit, and keeps moving forward.

You put on your anti war/don't support the troops shirt, and go meet up with your friends.
He still fights for your right to wear that shirt.

You talk trash about your "buddies" that aren't with you.
He knows he may not see some of his buddies again.

You walk down the beach, staring at all the pretty girls.
He patrols the streets, searching for insurgents and terrorists.

..

You complain about how hot it is.
He wears his heavy gear, not daring to take off his helmet to wipe his brow.

You go out to lunch, and complain because the restaurant got your order wrong.
He doesn't get to eat today.

Your maid makes your bed and washes your clothes.
He wears the same things for weeks, but makes sure his weapons are clean.

You go to the mall and get your hair redone.
He doesn't have time to brush his teeth today.

You're angry because your class ran 5 minutes over.
He's told he will be held over an extra 2 months.

You call your girlfriend and set a date for tonight.
He waits for the mail to see if there is a letter from home.

You hug and kiss your girlfriend, like you do everyday.
He holds his letter close and smells his love's perfume.

You roll your eyes as a baby cries.
He gets a letter with pictures of his new child, and wonders if they'll ever meet.

You criticize your government, and say that war never solves anything.
He sees the innocent tortured and killed by their own people and remembers why he is fighting.

You hear the jokes about the war, and make fun of men like him.
He hears the gunfire, bombs and screams of the wounded.

You see only what the media wants you to see.
He sees the broken bodies lying around him.

You are asked to go to the store by your parents. You don't.
He does exactly what he is told even if it puts his life in danger.

You stay at home and watch TV.
He takes whatever time he is given to call, write home, sleep, and eat.

If you support your troops, the click "reply to poster" copy all the codes, and repost the bulletin.

If you don't support your troops well, then don't re-post. You won't die in 7 days, your love life won't be affected, and you won't have the worst day ever. You don't have to repost. It's not like you know the men and women that are dying to preserve your rights.

Floating away on Cloud 9

I am soooooo happy. Friday night Andrea, Amy and I went to Memphis and saw Celtic Women. It was awesome. I really loved it. It was soooo much better than watching them on t.v. The coolest thing was when one of the drummers was wiping his hand with a rag and noticed that it was time for him to start playing he threw it in the air and started playing. He also did that with the drumsticks he was using or he did play the spoons and they went flying as well.
I started crying a little when Meav sang "Danny Boy" and when Mairead played "Shenadoah." It was so hard not to sing along with them. My favorite song of the night though had to be "Cailli"(sp). Although its hard to say that it was my only favorite.
I am still just pinching myself that we actually got to go and see them. If I knew I could afford it and could get there I would go on June 1st and see them again in a heart beat.

Well I gotta go start getting ready for finals...2 weeks left...Then a long summer.

Slipping and Sliding

Well its been a long time again, since my last post. I had a class at eight but since I couldn't walk down my stairs without slipping I thought that it would be safer to stay in. However I am going to have to go to work today. So I hope it has cleared up. I don't get why they did not cancel school because most of the upperclassmen and faculty live off campus and may not be able to get to class. Its so stupid. Well I am going to study so I will ttyl.

Have a great day

Nagging in my mind (nothing personal)

Well its after 10 but I am still a little wired feel sleepy half the time and awake the other. Mybe if i lay down i will be ok. but anyway....

This past week has been sorta hectic with me going through the second week of classes. I know that its really hard not just to go through the motions of this lovely college life. I think most people would hear of Ole Miss and think of the fact that we are in the top 5 party schools but i dont cater to that. I dont go to parties (ok frat or sorority). If i go to a party its usually held at UCSC (the student center) which means that I dont get to tempted. I know that its really weird and all to hear about what isnt fun and what is but i think that the best thing here is the Christian family I have been "adopted" into. (Casey u dont know how much the calls mean to me), I mean i havent had to much of a push toward being a Christian until i came to college. Its not that my home congregation doesnt care its that i dont think they know how to touch kids like me.

I know some of the people still treat me like I was still 5, and its hard just to not just yell at them and say "I AM NOT A LITTLE KID ANYMORE TREAT ME LIKE U WOULD ANOTHER ADULT" but i dont know if that will help.

I have to admit that until college I didnt have a really great relationship with God. Yeh there was camp during the summer but the rejuvination that I got there didnt last til the following July. it kinda stopped at about december. Expecially after my Great Grandmother died.

Well I need to stop ranting. I am not downing my home congregation at all they are trying but its the older "kids" like me that are suffering from their lack of caring when i was growning up. I mean if I miss Rebels I get a call from Casey seeing if I had needed a ride or if they had forgotten me and that tells me how special that relationship will be.

Well On a school note classes are going great.

Spazzed

K well here goes. I always want to know what dreams mean so if you can interpret this one please do cause it is really bothering me.

*The dream goes like this....I am walking down a gravel road with a guy that i think is either my younger brother or my grandfather ( but I cant be sure). Then i look down and see dogs walkin with me which is normal for me but its the dogs that are spazzin me out. There are 4 of them I recongnized 3 of the 4 as dogs that have "moved on" . One died when i was 8 another about 2 yrs ago. and the other disappeared about a year ago (we think she ran off b/c of my otherone having puppies). the fourth one I dont know because i couldnt really see it. and I bent down bauling my eyes out b/c i LOVED those dogs and I couldnt believe that there i was walkin and met them. They of course acted like they did around me all through our friendship they kissed and "fought to get attention". but then "Puddin" the one who disappeared looked me in the eyes and what i saw there scared me....
so bad that I woke up and Couldnt go back to sleep for a few hours (actually about an hour and a half.) Whats so bad is that I really miss Puddin and Cinnamon who were in this dream and were part of my growin up. expecially cinnamon we got her when i was 3 or 4 and she died when i was 18*. I just wish that I could figure what scared me so bad.

ITS OVER!!!!

YEAH SPRING BREAK IS OVER.......not.

I am glad but i also think it stinks that Spring Break is over. I liked the thought of being at home but my brothers have been brats but that's what they are for. I got my picts from the Slidell Trip on my computer after having to go through a diagnostic test on my CDROM, that wasnt working, but it is now. (THANK GOODNESS). I don't wanna complain but even though this computer is HUGE and a major pain it still works, and this is the first "problem" I have had to deal with. Oh well, hopefully I will be getting a new one with more than just a CDROM on it. But I can't complain to badly since I didn't buy this one it was a graduation present from my uncle.

Well as for the pictures from Slidell, I have them on Facebook. Check them out.

Gotta go to bed TTYL

A Blessing.....

Well I got back yesterday from a trip to the coast. Slidell in particular. I can't imagine on how it was just 6 monthes ago. I know that there are still people who are still just gutting out their houses that still have the junkie mold all over them.
I know that some of yall are gonna get tired of these posts but the truth needs to come out. While I was helping gutting out a house in Slidell I took a small break and some of us (the girls who were gutting) went and talked to the person who owned the house. Oh well I walked in on the conversation. I know that she said that it took them up to a month ago to get the fema trailers which are sooooo small.

But anyway....THe gutting was not as bad as some on the news had said I mean there were tie-die mold on the walls, but as long as we kept the mask and goggles on it helped with the dust and stuff but I have benn blowing out black stuff ever since but that is a little grose.

Well I will put picts up in a few days once i get them downloaded on my mom's computer.

Fun Day

Well I have had an interesting day to say the least. I woke up and had to go get a blue book for my class that I had a test in today. But i left the dorm and slid a few times heading to the union but i thought i was being cautious enough. Got the blue book, was walking toward the grove and all of a sudden BAM...
I hit concrete with my right knee(the corner nonetheless) so i bounced right up after that and thought i did good b/c i didnt twist my ancle. Well in the grove this morning right after this was a hawk. It was just sitting there watching all of us humans slipping and slidng on the ice. So I thought that was a good sign and had to laugh. Well I took my test and had to go back to the room b/c of some feminine problems. So I went to my 11o'clock class. Nothing big happened. Went to eat at the commons and then a few friends showed up (one was already there) One of which was from rebels. YEAH I am not the only one that eats there.
Any way. as i am sitting there i notice that my ankle is SWELLING. Oh well, after the fall i had go figure. now i am about to take a nap so ttyl.

Now lets hear it for..................

oh the last post was about headaches so I am gonna make this post about going to the doctor.
Well I went to the doctor yesterday b/c i felt like blah. So anyway I actually went to the doctor.....(I hate going to the doctor needlephobia). and what happens i have to get BLOODWORK!!!!! Which means needle. I am really proud of myself because i didnt fight it i just let it happen. Clappy. I am sooooo glad.

Well anywho. The tests came back negative and so now I am not sick (weird huh). and i missed my normal wed. night because I was all tired from the blood drawn. and from the initial squirt of Nasonex. Also they did the strep test but it was negative too. So whatever is wrong with me they just went ahead and gave me stuff for a sinus infection.
Now is the time to party (i am still going to class) no skipping b/c of a sinus problem. Well here i go. TTYL

The agony....

I woke up this morning getting my mind set the right way. and what do i see. but the loan money in my bursar account. however not all of it is there. therefore i still owe some money that i dont owe. if that makes sense. call it venting but if you are a single semester student then shouldnt you get ALL of the money ya need to pay for that semester. While I was trying to cool down i went ahead and submitted a application for state aid next year. Hopefully i will be accepted so i dont have to worry about student loans anymore.

What i dont get is how can they do this to a student who obviously needs help paying for higher education while other "rich" kids get all the finaid????????? I'm sorry if this sounds like im mad. well i am this is a disgrace. My family has always been able to find a way to keep us fed, a roof over our heads and all of that stuff. BUT that dont mean we have all the money in the world. I mean we arnt poor enough to get food stamps. And we are lucky we own our house. But that dont mean that i dont need help with my education.

I am the first woman in my family (mom, aunt, gma...etc) to even decide to go to college. My mom was the only thing close she went into the service. Im just mad as anything that someone like myself has to take out loans that will hurt us in the long run. Its just not fair. and i better stop typing b4 i say something i will regret tonight.

Time is coming to an end...

As the time with my friends that I have made in Oxford is starting to comes to an end. I start to relive the experiences that come with being with them. I think of the times that I had this past year that were very special to me. Before I met some of them I did not know what I was going to do with my time here. At that time I had thought of just being a recluse. I know that now as I look back Casey coming up and talking to me that one Sunday morning kinda changed my life. If I knew then what I know now (I sound like I am old.) I would have probably jumped at the chance to become a part of Rebels. I know that I probably suprised many RFC's when I signed up for the Fall Retreat, now looking back I was glad I did. Now I have many more friendships to treasure than when I started in the Fall. Before then my Christian friendships were kind of scarce and far between. I feel so blessed to have known each and every one of you and to have the knowledge that I was taken into the wings of strangers really has helped me. I know that I probably have said that I have been blessed many times in this blog to have known each and everyone of you and I know that it comes from my heart.

God Bless each and everyone of you and may you have happiness in your life.

Spring Break is over.........

Spring Break sports fans is over. Sorry always wanted to say that. I guess it was fun while it lasted, however I am sad to a point we had to give up one of mine and Ryan's dogs because she kept picking fights with her sister with intention to kill. I guess that was the hardest part of the week. On an more drastic note my brother gave me and my mom a head-cold which i am still fighting. It stinks to be sick during SB but it could have been worse. I feel much better now and just got out of my 2nd class today and decided to update this thing. I guess I had too much time on my hands during SB but I actually watched part of the hearing on MLB and steriods.
For those of you who are supportive of the players and want congress to keep their noses out of baseball i apologize if i offend.

I AGREE WITH WHAT THEY ARE DOING!!!!!!!

(Nice title aint it.)

What do they think they are doing (the players) do they think that they can get away with shooting up on illegal substances? I guess they dont think about what it shows to the younger generation. The dad who spoke in front of the hearing was very to the point and direct on his thinkings because he lived the nightmares that steriods bring because his son (who had taken steriods) killed himself b/c of his use of steroids. WHAT WAS MCGUIRE THINKING!!!! Until a the hearing I was a (fan sortof) supporter of some of the players who were named by Conseco (sorry) to have taken steroids, but after McGuires STUPID saying that he is "not here to talk about the past" I mean that is basically implementing him aint it?
I will shut up about it but of course putting it into perspective to all sports (not just baseball) we need to just quit making the steroids that are hurting our sport I mean wouldnt that solve the problem?

This is the SI (Sports Illistrated) thoughts on the hearing and I thought that it had a good summary of the hearings the hrl is http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2005/baseball/mlb/03/17/mcgwire.congress.ap/index.html

What Do you say?????

What do you tell someone who has just lost a love one? How can you say I know how you feel? There have been deaths in my family but none like the one this past week back home. Those of you who know me know that I am very compassionate, but what do you tell a 10 year old after his dad died? I just know that I felt so hopeless Saturday at the funeral. Ms. Sharon, the wife of the deceased, looked like hell (if you excuse the phrase), and Cody, the 10 year old, looked like he was just trying to be brave for his mom. Jerry and his wife, Jerry is the eldest son, looked like he was trying to be strong for his mom. I dont think that I could ever be that strong. I still dont know what to say to him. All I can do is offer my help if he needs someone to take him away to talk or something. And whats worst is that Tommy and Cody are really good friends. They basically grew up together and it is the same with me and Jerry. I have known them forever. But what can you tell a person after something like this happens.

God Bless.

Valentines Day

This overly popular media frenzie is getting out of control. It originally began as a holiday in honor of Saint Valentine. One of the many saints. This is not the only day that is getting to commercial. There are many others and people are starting to like Valentines day not because of the religious background of it, but because its a way to get free candy from people. I for one like the thought of one day a year to get something from ones sweetheart. However, we cant just let it go too far. I know for a fact that it is very hard to see all this stuff on being with your sweetheart on V-Day (yes people do call it this) when you and he or she are miles apart. I have personally dealt with it today. I know that he loves me and if he were within 100 miles of here he would be with me, but he aint. And I am not gonna grudge this to other people there are many who are apart this Valentines Day and I know that I am not alone. We should not just look at this as a holiday, but as a time in which we can share the love that God has chosen to give us. Not just the ways we hear it now but as we are learning on Wednesday nights the Agape Fellowship that we all need to share in Christ.

WHAT IS WITH THIS WORLD?????

ALRIGHT another blog. Thats funny aint it. I was doin a very dangerous thing the other day, thinking. For some its okay to think but for me it could get me in trouble(LOL). Anyway I was thinkin and I need yalls opinion, "Why do we need clicks, aka social clubs and yes even greek societies?" I have always been a part of the "OUT" crowd, and i dont see the reasoning behind the separation of people whether it be at High School or at College. We even see it out in the workforce. There is always the one left out of the mix. At one time I was asked to be part of the "IN" crowd but decline when i found out what one needed to do to be part of it. The initiation went against not just what i was raised on but what I believed. Are we just Strangers in the World, or are we just part of the world and pretend we are strangers in it. (Casey I really want your opinion.)

Super Bowl is it really important?

I guess I just don't get football. My roommate is a football fanatic major. I just dont really care. I mean I do have favorite teams that I grew up watching with my dad and grandma. But like my mom I would rather be watching BASEBALL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Or I would rather watch NASCAR by the way the DAYTONA 500 is Febuary 20th and I cant wait. But why football. This past season for many of the sports world has been havic. Take Hockey for instance NO Stanley Cup that is like telling a person who loves football NO Super Bowl or baseball NO World Series. I have always been the girl who would get into a heated arguement on whether the Atlanta Braves are even worth watching (still do I really dont like them). Also if the California Angels (Anaheim Angels now) would ever be as good as they were in the 80s which they proved in the world series a few years back. Or even dare I say it The BOSTON RED SOX and the NEW YORK YANKEES who really cares about the yankees any way (GO RED SOX!!!!!!!!!!!) or even the CHICAGO CUBS not being in the playoffs for a while ( thank goodness Sosa is gone) as you can see i dont really care who wins the Super Bowl I just cant wait til BASEBALL gets here.
I also cant wait til NASCAR gets back in the raceing spirit. Thats another argument me and my roommate have she really dislikes NASCAR and I LOVE IT!!! I dont understand it, a Southerner that doent like NASCAR. Thoughts and Help learning the reasoning of Football would be nice because Ryan loves football and I want to at least try to understand it before next season.

Day in, Day out

I just got in a little while ago and was thinking about what Casey asked us yesterday at Counter-Culture. I don't really know how to answer such a question. For those who don't remember what it is or don't know its, (sorry Casey for the paraphrasing) Is it okay to try out, as a Christian, on American Idol. I don't really think that it is such a good idea. Because on doesn't really know what to say when your asked outright what one would do. I know that I have been thinking about it for a while and have come to the conclusion, as a person who once wanted to try out just to see what they thought of my vocal talents, that now after the question has been asked that it would not be good for a Christian to do. Especially if one just looks at it as "If I do this will it jeopardize my relationship with God?" Ask that to a person and if they really think they are a strong enough Christian then let them go ahead and try out. As for me I don't think that my relationship with God is ready to tested that much right now.

God Bless

My Life.......Boring and Exciting at the same time

Today is Saturday so I clean, study and do laundry. I also look at my family tree online and see if it has any new posts so that I can fix it. Its also the day that the computer checks for viruses. But, my favorite thing to do on Saturday's is FISH. But being here in Oxford and even at home I don't always have the time to do it. I guess that you can say that fishing is a family tradition. My Great Grandpa taught me how to fish when I was 2. So I've been doing it for a while. Well back to the Family tree thing...It might help to write down some of the stories that our elders have told us over the years.

For those of you that have no idea what I am really like... Here's a story...........................................

It happened a very long time ago and is very fragmented, I guess why I remember it is because my great Grandpa (Grandpa for the rest of the blog) kept telling me it.

In the Summer of 1987 I moved from California to Mississippi with my family. My Grandpa and my Grandma (his daughter) came out to California to help us move. My Grandpa and my dad drove the UHAUL truck while my Grandma and my mom drove the car with me and my older brother. This is about crossing Arizona, if I remember right, when I got to ride in the UHAUL truck. My Grandpa told me that I was having a blast throwing a ball to him and my dad(who was driving.. I think) in the front seat of the truck. Later when I was back in the car with my mom I decided to open the sugar canister and the windows were down(oops, I was a little twerp I guess).

It is fun to hear about the things I have done as a little girl, but one of my most fondest moments is, of course, with my Grandpa. He always took me everywhere. My mom basically had to give him free reign. I was a TOM-BOY. I knew how to do a lot of things like use a hammer and fish before I could talk very good. But anyway the most favorite moment (besides when I got engaged) was the first time I caught a catfish by myself. Grandpa had to help me hold it up while my mom took the picture because the fish was almost as big as I was.

Well there ya go a little insight of my childhood.

God Bless

(and sorry for the rambling)

Getting Ready for a Wedding

I can't believe it. I'm actually getting ready to have a wedding. Although I don't know where to begin. This can also be a big pain genealogy wise. Just adding all of the people can be a headache. Well between school and packing every thing up its a hassle. I still have a few monthes though to get every thing perfect. Remember just because its cold outside doesnt mean that you dont have to look up genealogy stuff. Just go to websites they usually have a lot of info.

happy hunting and wish me luck
